Education_Therapy_LosAngeleTo ensure the most accurate and helpful educational therapy approach to your child’s learning needs, we recommend that a clinical psychologist complete a cognitive evaluation first. This assessment is an important tool that helps guide our educational therapists in working with your child, by giving us insight to your child’s strengths and weaknesses. Once we receive the results of the cognitive assessment, we then provide our own academic assessment of your child (typically 45 minutes). Following a thorough analysis of your child’s academic assessment we meet with you to discuss our findings and to set learning goals for your child.

Next, we create a customized therapy program to work with your child. Educational therapy sessions are typically conducted through 55-minute sessions twice weekly. The final ten minutes of each session is used for our therapists to take briefing notes and discuss any issues with you. Each session is unique and geared toward the accomplishment of your child’s goals. We periodically assess our progress with respect to the goals we set, making the necessary adjustments to ensure flexibility and adaption to your child’s evolving needs. Once we conclude that a goal has been achieved a new, more challenging, goal is set.

We do not provide assistance with completing homework.
